James Thomas Hackett

James Thomas Hackett, 88, of Plantation, Florida passed away March 20, 2014. James is a decorated World War II Army Paratrooper.  He has been a resident of South Florida since 1962 and is an avid sport enthusiast. He is preceded in death by his wife Doris Hackett. He is survived by his daughter, Maureen Maywald and her husband, Paul Maywald of Sunrise, FL;sons, James Kevin Hackett of St. Petersburg, Florida and Donald Patrick Hackett of Plantation, Florida; sister, Regina Elkins of Alabama and grandson, Eric Maywald.   Donation may be made to National Parkinson Foundation South Florida 1501 NW 9 Ave Miami, FL 33136The family will receive friends on Monday 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, 10:00 AM at St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church.
