Jon Kristian Marshall

Jon Kristian Marshall was born on March 19, 1947 to Paul Robert Marshall and Bernice Bjorn in Peoria, Illinois where he grew up with his 3 brothers Bob, Todd, and Terry and his sister Kay. He attended Peoria High School where he competed on the wrestling team and graduated as Valedictorian in 1965. He attended Purdue University where he graduated in 1969 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1971 he met Maxine Reeves on a cruise to Haiti. They dated for 4 years before getting engaged in 1974 and married in Greenville, South Carolina on July 5, 1975. He spent over 30 years working as a mechanical engineer in a number of capacities. During that time Jon and Maxine settled in Sunrise, Florida where they raised their two daughters, Jennifer and Kelly, and one son, Sean. Jon loved all sporting events and enjoyed keeping up with local and global current events. He always had a stash of $2 bills in his wallet and kept a tradition of giving his children a silver dollar at special occasions or visits when they were grown. He loved to clip interesting political or science stories out of the newspaper. He was smart, kind, and had a sharp wit & great sense of humor, which everyone who knew him will miss greatly. He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Maxine; his children, Jennifer (Troy) Jaikaran, Kelly (Michael) Grant, and Sean Marshall; grandson Marshall Grant and granddaughter Maya Jaikaran; siblings Paul Robert Marshall, Jr., Todd Marshall, Terry Marshall, Kay (William) Smart, and numerous nephews and nieces A funeral for family will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Cremation arrangements by T.
