Angela "Angie" Giorgino, 93, of Jefferson City, Missouri and longtime resident of Sunrise, Florida passed away June 1, 2014. Angie was born on August 27, 1920, to Maria and Dominick Tucciarone in Tufo, Italy, where she grew up with her brother Philip. She immigrated to New York City in 1934. She met the love of her life in upstate New York while on vacation. Frank and Angie lived in the Bronx for many years, raised their two children, and then settled in Sunrise, Florida in 1975 to enjoy a long and active retirement. Angie was a member of St. Bernard parish in Sunrise.
Angie loved family and friends above all else. She traveled extensively, gathering new friends wherever she went. She was generous and kind, energetic and adventurous, and always willing to help a friend or neighbor in need. She loved to socialize at the Italian American Club and played a mean game of bingo. Angie also loved sunshine, fresh air, and the fresh fruits and vegetables that each season offered. She showed us how to “live in the moment” and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and her brother, Phil Tucciarone. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Joe McAleer; son and daughter-in-law, John and Mary Giorgino; four grandchildren, Jody and Marissa McAleer and Philip and Alyssa Giorgino; two great-granddaughters, Ashtyn and Brooklyn McAleer; niece Carol Durden; nephews Bobby and Philip Tucciarone; and sister-in-law Diane Tucciarone.
