Rose Mary Hufcut joined the angels on June 6, 2014, enveloped in love.
Rose Mary was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on October 18, 1942 to George and Mary Bubolo. She was the first of four children, followed by George, Frances and Vincent.
Rose Mary grew up in the family neighborhood of Ozone Park, Queens. She later attended St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Newburgh, N.Y. After graduation, she spent time in California before returning to Pine Bush, N.Y.
After returning from California, Rose Mary worked as a nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital and married Paul Keller. Ten months later, she was blessed with the arrival of her first daughter, Tracy Lynn. She moved to Oneonta, N.Y. and worked in a local hospital. She later returned to Pine Bush, N.Y. and worked for the Department of Social Services in Goshen, N.Y. and as a nurse at Horton Hospital in Middletown, N.Y. The following years brought her marriage to Gerald Hufcut and Rose Mary was blessed with the arrival of her second daughter, Georgia Lee.
Rose Mary left Walker Valley, N.Y. in 1980 and moved to Plantation, FL. with her two daughters. She began her career at Broward General Medical Center in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. as an epidemiologist, making a difference in the lives of everyone she knew. She continued working for Broward General Medical Center until her retirement in 2002.
Rose Mary earned her Master’s Degree from Nova University in Davie, FL., spent her free time with family and friends and had the opportunity to travel abroad.
Rose Mary will continue to watch over her family from heaven, along with her father, mother and sister, Frances.
Rose Mary is survived by her daughter, Tracy McGraw and husband T.J. McGraw, her daughter, Georgia Gordon and husband Scott Gordon, three grandchildren, Ashley McGraw, Sarah (McGraw) Ryan, Anthony Gordon and their families. She is also survived by her brothers, George Bubolo and his wife Lydia and Vincent Bubolo and his fiancée Patty, six nieces, three nephews, their families as well as extended family.
Adhering to Rose Mary’s final wishes, no formal services will be held. Her loving family requests that those who know, respect and love her continue to remember the impact she had on the lives of everyone she met and to celebrate her life, which was lived with strength, love, courage and passion.
