DiMattina-Polito, Lucy 99 of Southwest Ranches passed away on August 16, 2014 being cared for by her family at the home of her son, Robert.She was preceded in death by her husband Bart, and Son Thomas. She later married Anthony Polito, who also preceded her in death. She was 2nd of 8 siblings, and the last to survive. In addition to her son Robert, and daughter in law Becky; 6 grandchildren, Lori Stofft, Robert B., Lindsey, Thomas, Kathy,Johnny; and 13 great-grandchildren survive her.She came to this area in 1951 from NY, first living in N. Miami. While living in Dade County she was active in politics and at St. James Catholic Church. While there she owned and operated coffee shops. She had also lived in Plantation, Delray Beach, prior to moving to Pembroke Pines. In Delray, she volunteered numeorus hours at Delray Community Hospital and Pinecrest Rehabilitation Center. She continued to volunteer in Pembroke Pines at the Southwest Senior Focal Point. One of her greatest pleasures was caring for and cooking for her family. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00-9:00 PM. At the T.M. Ralph Funeral Home Sawgrass/Weston 371 NW 136 Avenue Sunrise, FL 33325. Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be held Wednesday at St. Mark Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn North Cemetery. In her memory donations may be made to the Southwest Focal Point Senior Center for their Alzheimer’s Unit or St. Judes Childrens Hopsital.The family will continue to receive freinds at their home on Wednesday after the services at the cemetery.
