Gary Orme

Richard “Gary” Orme Gary Orme, age 74, of Port St. Lucie, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2014. Gary lived most of his life in Plantation, FL. He was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Earl and Wanema Orme. He is a graduate of Miami High School, Florida State University and Florida Atlantic University and served in the United States Air Force. Gary’s career in education spanned 40 years within the Broward County School System; the majority of these years were at Nova Middle School. He was an active member of the Plantation community especially with the Plantation Athletic League, coaching numerous teams for each of his children. Gary was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Florida State Seminoles, Miami Dolphins, and Florida Panthers. Gary was an extremely involved father and proud of all of his children: Susan (Mark) Relicke, Steve (Mary) Orme, Melissa (Eric) Veal, Amanda (Shane) Mullikin and was a loving grandfather to Zachery, Dylan, Alexander, Courtney, Austin, Cameron and Gavin. He is survived by his sister Lana Westfall. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, September 7 from 1:00p.m. until 4:00p.m. at TM Ralph Funeral Home located at 7001 NW 4th Street, Plantation, FL 33317. He will be laid to rest at the South Florida VA National Cemetery in Lake Worth. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
