Jean E Lawrence

Lawrence, Jean E., 93, a loving mother, aunt and grandmother, passed away Friday, 09/12/2014 in Florida. She was born in 1921 to the late Simeon and Mable Nevins of St. Ann, Jamaica, W.I. of eight siblings, she is survived by four: Simeon Nevins, Solomon Sinclair (Ann), Daniel Sinclair and Myrtle Castriota (Frank). She was married to the late Cecil Lawrence, and of this union is survived by six of seven children; Jean DelaMotta, Derrick Lawrence (Diana), Marcia Lawrence (deceased), Margaret Lawrence-Gilmore, Rudolph Lawrence, Angela Lawrence, and Jennifer Lawrence-Cuccia (Fabio). She leaves behind several nieces and nephews some are: Lloyd Douglas (Vilma) and Leavy Douglas (Sarah), Marie Saldeba (Tom), and Trudy Diedrick, Billy Carter and Lisa-Mae Armburst (Stephen), and grandchildren: Andrea, Paula, Karen, Sheryl, and Debra DelaMotta, Wayne and Gina Lawrence, Andre Lawrence, Shelley Lawrence (deceased), Luca and Sofia Cuccia and many others. Jean was a positive thinker who held a strong and devoted belief in God’s blessing and mercies, and in family unity. She was an extremely loving, kind, nurturing mother and friend. Throughout life, she was gifted seamstress who sewed anything she set her eyes on and an avid gardener of blooming flowers and fruits who loved music, sharing her life, her time and her gifts. Visitation will take place Friday, 12:00PM-1:00PM at Community Christian Church, with Funeral Services starting at 1:00PM. Interment will immediately following at Lauderdale Memorial Park.
