Karen Lanni 54 of Sunrise, FL passed away Oct. 10, 2014, after a battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her family being cared for at home. She was a devoted and special mother. Her children were her life. She not only cared for her own daughters, but nurtured many others. She operated an in home day care for over 18 years. She was a Christian whose faith sustained her during difficult times. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, whether it be Alaska, Lake Tahoe, or taking cruises. She is survived by her husband Gary Lanni, retired Detective Sgt with Sunrise Police Dept., her daughters and son in laws, Nicole &Shawn Conway, Erin Manning, Brittany & Andrew Lundy, Ashley Manning, and her fiancé Robert Bustamante; grandchildren Shaelan and Judah. Her mother Evelyn Szatmary, brother Robert Szatmary, sister Noreen Desmarais, and sister in law Theresa Szatmary, Gary’s Children, Denise Porter, Kevin Lanni, and son in law Michael Porter, grandchildren Katie & Matty Porter, all whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Julius Szatmary, and brother Kenny Szatmary. There was always a special place in her heart for “The Fluffy Girl”, her cockapoo that stayed by her side.
