Jack F. Weins, a good man, great husband and awesome father departed this world on October 26, 2014, leaving love, joy and laughter in his wake. Born October 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, he migrated to Florida in 1957 for college and law school at the University of Miami, marrying Janet his beloved wife in 1961. An attorney by trade and lover-of-laughs from birth, known for “Jack-isms” that have been handed down to his five children (Barry, Kim, Brian, Bruce and Kelly), their spouses (Maura, Hudson, Corrinne and John) and seven grandchildren (Nick, Sean, Sophie, Jessica, Savannah, David and Ben) to guide them throughout their lives. “Don’t garbage up the garbage” or “Turn off the light, do you think I own stock in the electric company?” are just a few from his vast repertoire. He and Janet explored the world, traveling to far-flung locations from Buenos Aires to Barcelona, India to Istanbul, and Antarctica to Alaska. A man who loved nothing better than a well-manicured lawn, during his retirement Jack volunteered his services as a “mow man” to his grown children in exchange for a cold beer. He maintained a love for the Dolphins keeping the faith from the undefeated 1972 team throughout his life. Family and friends expect to find him sailing the oceans, listening to jazz, watching (yelling at) a football game, hijacking his grandchildren’s stuffed animals, admiring a well-planted garden, or enjoying a beer. Cheers to you Jack! Funeral services will be held at Plantation Community Church at 6501 W Broward Boulevard, Plantation, on Thursday, October 30th at 12:30pm. Arrangements through T.M. Ralph Funeral Home in Plantation.
