Marie Goerl

Marie Goerl, 78, of Davie, FL passed away on November 17th, 2014 with her family close by. She was born to the late Patrick J. Clarke and Annetta Alford on December 11, 1935 in Long Island City. She attended Mary Louis Academy in Jamaica, NY and after Graduated Assissium Business School in Manhattan. She married her husband of 58 years, Charles H. Goerl on June 23rd, 1956. The matriarch of her family, she was a woman of great faith. Her kindness and generosity reached far beyond her family and friends to anyone in need. Passionate, with a message of love and hope, she worked with many charitable organizations including Food for the Poor and Covenant House. A parishioner of St. David& All Saints Catholic Church where she served as a lecture and Eucharistic Minister for many years while being a member of the St. David& All Saints Women Club, and volunteering with Hope Outreach. She had a profound effect on the many lives that she touched. Marie is survived by her husband, Charles H. Goerl, her daughter and son in law, Cecelia and Paul Kauffmann, her grandsons, Charles and Christopher, her great grandchildren, Aiden and Chloe Marie, her sisters Patricia Clarke and Cecelia O'Brien, and many, many nieces and nephews. All of whom she loved very much. A viewing will be held at T.M. Ralph Funeral Home at 371 NW 136th Ave. Sunrise, FL 33325 on Thursday between 2pm - 4pm & 7pm-9pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests mass cards be sent.
