Kelton Wayns, beloved son of Lowansa Webster, was brought home by his Creator to join his wife and father, on November 28, 2014. A proud member of the Cherokee Nation, Kelton attended Ashworth College in Georgia and Rutgers University in New Jersey. He was a member of both Lambda Alpha Epsilon (American Criminal Justice Association) and Delta Epsilon Tau (International Honor Society). After graduating from Rutgers, Kelton served his country in the United States Army. He then went on to service his community as an officer with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, attaining the rank of Lieutenant before retiring. Along with his mother, Kelton is survived by his sister, Cheyenne, as well as his niece, Aeysha and her children, Antonio, Ajiana, Cameron, and Ethan. He is also survived by his Aunt Joyce and cousins, Tina, Trina, and Freddy, his Aunt Arlene and cousins Kevin, Smacky, and Junior, and his Uncle Bernard and cousins Gia, Gina, and Shannon. His Aunt Janice predeceased him. Kelton also leaves his “brothers” Gary Holloway, Terry Holloway, and Kyle Holloway, and many other friends, tribal members, and former colleagues, including his special friend Sgt. Brook Lebel.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Left up your heart, and share with me,
God wanted me now; He set me free.
“I have set the Lord always before me: because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” Psalm 16:8
