FULLICK, Margarita (affectionately known to all as Nanna Peggy) 93, of Plantation, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday evening surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren . She opened her eyes to everyone then slipped peacefully away to Heaven.
Peggy was born in Ennis, County Claire, Ireland on March 28, 1922 to the late Paddy and Mary Ryan. She was one of 8 sisters and 2 adopted brothers. Peggy was a nurse in England and later served as a private duty nurse to the Royal Family. She met her late husband Peter, who had served in the British Army during World War II, in London. They married at St. Stephen Catholic Church in London in 1951.
Peter (on the Queen Elizabeth) and Peggy (6 months later on the Queen Mary with children Nigel and Patricia) came to the United States in 1958 and settled in Detroit, Michigan. They moved to Florida in July 1970 and made their home in Lighthouse Point, where Peggy loved to sow her Irish roots, puttering in her garden for hours on end. She could absolutely grow anything from a little “Cutting”! Her favorites were her Ming Aralia trees. They were truly amazing! She loved nothing more than having her Grandchildren dropped off to her where she in turn would spoil them rotten. She never knew how to say No. Though she didn’t know how to swim herself, she would spend hours in the pool with the Grandchildren paddling in the water with them.
Later, Peter and Peggy moved to Plantation to be closer to their children and grandchildren. They became parishioners of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Nanna Peggy lived for her children and Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Peggy is survived by her five children, Nigel P. Fullick of Bonita Springs, Patricia (Richard) Huff of Plantation, Richard (Suzanne) Fullick of Palm Bay, Siobhan Edwards of Plantation and Christine (Heather Hill) Fullick of Fort Lauderdale.
Grandchildren Katie Edwards of Plantation, Bob (Lindsay) Edwards of Davie, Kymberly (Gregory) Di Maria of Boynton Beach, Courtney Edwards of Plantation, Dr. Julia Fullick of Hamden, Connecticut, Jameson Fullick of Sarasota, Caroline Fullick of Melbourne Beach, Ryan Lehrer of Fort Lauderdale, Cameron Lehrer of Fort Lauderdale, Meaghan Lehrer of Los Angeles, CA, Ricky (Leah) Huff of Tampa, and Logan Huff of Plantation.
And of late, the littlest loves of her life, her Great Grandchildren Madden and Linden Edwards and Gianna and Valentina Di Maria. And soon to be born Theodore Huff (if lucky maybe on Nanna Peggy’s Birthday).
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews residing in Ireland, England, Spain, Michigan and California.
Nanna Peggy was so very loved by all that knew her. Having never lost her wonderful Irish brogue or strong spirit, her larger than life personality will be forever missed! She will be forever in our hearts!
The family would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and prayers.
