Robert F. Metzger

Metzger, Robert of Weston passed away April 10, 2015. Born in Brooklyn, NY,he worked with the Daily News for over 32 years.  A veteran of The US Army,he served in the European Theater including Normandy, Battle of the Bulge,Ardennes and the Rhineland Campaigns.  He was awarded the French Legion ofHonor medal in 2014.  Devoted to his church and family, he was the HeadUsher at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church and a parishioner since the parishwas founded. He was president of Bonaventure’s Tract 25, active with CERTand a talented artist. Survived by his beloved wife of 67 years Maria, his children Donna (Charles) Faranda and Robert J.(Caterina) Metzger, 5 grandchildren, and 4 great grandsons.  Visitation will be Tuesday 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00PM at the T.M. Ralph Funeral Home 371 NW 136 Avenue Sunrise, FL 33325. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday 9:30 am at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church.
