Vivian R. Boutin passed away on May 11, 2015, of natural causes in Sunrise, FL. She was 81 years old.
The Funeral Mass will take place at All Saints Catholic Church in Sunrise, FL, on Thursday, May 14 at 11 a.m.
Vivian grew up in Central Falls, RI, the city where she met her future husband, James Boutin, at a USO dance. They married on July 30, 1955.
They later moved to Providence, RI, where they had six children. When their youngest child was 7 years old, they moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL, in August 1979 on an adventurous whim.
Vivian had many jobs throughout her life, including working as a bookkeeper at Sunbeam Bread, waitressing, and working as a nursing assistant. She was a devout Catholic and mother who adored her husband and children and dedicated her life to making her family feel loved.
Loved ones remember her fun-loving nature, her collection of porcelain dolls, her fun costume jewelry, and her love of big band ballroom dancing when she was back in Rhode Island.
But most of all, they remember her infectious laugh. Not only did she have a great sense of humor — she knew how to get the entire room laughing with her. She’s made priests laugh, nurses laugh, waiters laugh, and complete strangers laugh. She always brought joy to those around her. Laughter was her legacy.
She is survived by her six children, Michael, Lynn, Mark, Aline, James, and Katherine; her grandchildren, Melissa, Cheryll, Amanda, Kaitlin, and Michael; and her great-grandchildren, Cole and Josephine.
