Mr. Winston Ulric Herbert was born in the city of Barataria on the Island of Trinidad, West Indies, on October 19, 1945 to the parents of Peter and Stephanie Herbert. He migrated to the United States of America and became a U.S. citizen many years ago. He passed away at home surrounded by the love of his family on May 17, 2015.
Winston Herbert was a loving Husband, Father, Brother, Son, Grandfather, Cousin, Uncle, colleague and friend to all that knew him and will be missed.
As a nurse employed by Westside Regional Hospital of Plantation for 25 years, and Forest Trace of Inverarry for approximately 20 years, Winston cared for many people with excellence, compassion, precision and kindness.
Emmanuel Baptist Church is the church he was exposed to the Gospel and through his hearing of the Word, believed and was saved.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Elvina Herbert, his four children, David, Darrell, Duane, and Krystal Herbert, his two daughter-in-laws, Elizabeth Herbert and Jeneva Herbert, and also five loving grandchildren, Jaivin-Duane, Justus-Dylan, Nazneen, Kaden, and Kennedy Herbert.
Visitation will be Thursday 5- 8 PM at the T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 :30 AM Friday at Emanuel Baptist Church in Coconut Creek. Friends will be welcomed at the church starting at 11:00 AM. He will live on in the hearts of those whom he touched.
