Geraldo "Jerry" P. Larriu

December 10, 1954 — June 11, 2015

Geraldo (Jerry) Larriu  Jerry was a unique individual, loving, caring and always had your back. He loved friends and always remembered them even if he had not heard nor seen them for a while. But more than anything he loved his family. He loved his wife, constantly saying that she was his angel and he didn't know how she put up with his shenanigans. He loved his family. Visiting his mother not only made him happy but she lit up every time she saw him. He would always call his brothers and sister, wanting to know how they were doing even though he was the one that was ill. His son, nieces and nephews loved him and he them. He was proud of all their accomplishments.  Jerry loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He had a garden that reminded us of the Garden of Eden. Anything he planted would grow. He grew all kinds of trees, bushes, and fruit trees. He loved his orchids, roses, and flowers. He was so proud of his garden. Jerry had a green thumb for growing things, he took after his mother. Not only was he good with plants but he was very artistic. He used his hands to create all types of art. He would pick up any type of gadget and make an artistic artifact with it. He made small houses out of bamboo and sticks, goblets out of coconuts, walking sticks with drawings of the Puerto Rican flag or Puerto Rican symbols which he drew himself. He was a jack of all traits. He never sold his creations but would give them to his family. What more could we say about him, he was loved. He touched all of us in a special way. We will miss him dearly but know he is in a better place and one day we hope to be with him. Thank you Jerry for sharing your life with us.He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Yolando Larriu; mother, Amparo Larriu of Weston, FL; son, Jerry Larriu of New York; brother, Hector & Rudy Larriu of West Palm Beach; sister, Nydia Claudio A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Saturday, June 13, 2015, 11:00 AM at  St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Davie, FL  Cremation arrangements by T.
