Harold Francis Perry, Jr.

Harold ("Hal") F. Perry, Jr., died Saturday, June 27th, 2015 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He was 86. He was from Collingswood, NJ, son of Harold F. Perry, Sr., and Magdeline Mary Herzig; he had one younger brother, Richard F. Perry. Harold was active in Boy Scouts, achieved rank of Eagle Scout and later served as Scoutmaster and Cubmaster. He graduated from Collingswood High School, class of 1946. He obtained a Business Degree from Camden Commercial College and worked at Camden Trust Company in Camden County, NJ. He was in the U.S. Naval Reserve and activated during the Korean Conflict, serving on a Destroyer. In 1951 Harold married Joyce ("Joy") Miller, from Merchantville, NJ. In 1956 the Perrys moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He continued his banking career in Florida, retiring as President of Sun Bank of Miami. He was Past President of the Rotary Club of Bal Harbour, and was a Paul Harris Fellow. The Perrys enjoyed traveling in the U.S., overseas, and several cruises, also had a summer home in Spruce Pine, NC for 40 years. His hobbies were golf, bicycle riding (including in Europe), and country western dancing. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joy; 3 children: Bill (Jennifer), Rick (Annette), Kathryn (Craig Budd); 10 grandchildren: David Goodman, Brian Perry, Rachel Adams, Linda Escobar, Christi Perry, Stephanie Brock, Jessica Perry; Ezra Perry, Leah Perry; Alexis Budd; and 19 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday evening, July 10th, 7 to 9 p.m. at T. M.
