Abby Campbell McDowell, 71, of Cooper City, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 16, 2015 surrounded by her family. Born December 9, 1943 in New York City, New York to the late Edward and Bernice McDowell, Abby is survived by her loving husband, Hulbert Koppelmann, her children Douglas Thompson, Jennifer Entinger, Kerry Flack and Robert Crews, her daughter-in-law Robin Thompson and her sons-in-law David Entinger and Jason Flack. She was adored by her grandchildren Taylor Thompson, Mason Thompson, Zachary Entinger, Joshua Entinger, Ryan Flack, Tyler Flack, Karly Flack and Enzo Crews. She is also survived by her brother and his wife, Keith and Deanna McDowell and her sisters and their husbands, Lyle and Rob Conner and Lucy and Bill Murphy and a great many nieces and nephews across the country all of with whom she had special relationships. Abby had an accomplished carrier in insurance and was well respected in her industry. She was an educator to her employees, high school students and those already in the field looking to improve their understanding and knowledge of a subject she loved. She attained multiple designations in her field as well as numerous awards up through the national level. During her career she also served on many boards and government agencies helping to promote and protect the industry. She retired in December 2012.
