Thomas Francis O’Keefe, III, 31, of Coral Springs passed peacefully at home July 4, 2015 after a long battle with brain cancer. He was born May 6, 1984 in Hollywood, Florida. As a child, he loved playing sports -- especially baseball. His passion for sports continued into adulthood and Tommy enjoyed going to Dolphins, Marlins, and Heat games. He met the love of his life, Jessica, at 16 and they married in 2011. They welcomed a daughter, Mackenzie, in 2014. Tommy was a dedicated husband, caring father, loving son, and role model for his two younger brothers. He was an avid listener of rock music and had an insatiable sweet tooth, selecting where to eat based on the dessert menu. Tommy proudly served with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office for 12 years, most recently with the Dania Beach District. He came from a law enforcement family, with his grandfather having served as a sergeant with the Boston Police Department, and his father retiring from the Miami-Dade Police Department. Tommy is survived by his wife; daughter; parents Tom & Leslie; brothers Andy and Sean; grandmother Evelyn White; and in-laws David & Lynda Lasry. Visitation Wednesday 5:00-8:00 PM at T.M. Ralph Funeral Home 371 NW 136 Avenue Sunrise, FL 33325. Funeral Service Thursday 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale. In his memory, donations may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association (www.abta.org).
