Wentowrth, as a child quickly became affectionately known as “IGA” and when anyone uses that name to address him you know that they have been long term friends dating back to elementary school. The story as told by his Mother Cynthia was that, she overheard his older brother Howard use the name to get Wentworth’s attention. That of course was because his name “Wentworth” was not the easiest to pronounce by a toddler. Now as a toddler Wentworth was not too talkative, he was and remained very reserved, so when he was called by his brother Howard to get his attention, his answer was almost always“CHE” that to him meant yes, do not bother me. (Smile) He attended Zorn elementary school and Christiana Junior Secondary School in Jamaica... He was excellent at Track and field and excelled at academics. He was selected as “Head Boy “(BIG CHIEF) (smile) for his entire High School. He demonstrated Team Work, was very supportive to the student body and as a result was very well liked by the students. In 1973 Wentworth, his Dad and Brothers migrated to the United States to join his mom where she had been living for some time in Florida. He subsequently attended and graduated from Stranahan High School in Fort Lauderdale. After graduating High school he enlisted in the US Air Force and served until 1983. His rank at the time of his departure from the Air Force was Staff Sergeant. He went on to work. He loved his current work family and was proud to serve with the TSA at Fort Lauderdale Airport. He will be always remembered by those who loved him.
