Elizabeth “Betty” Sage was born to John and Anna Fitzthum of Sandusky, Ohio. She met Kenneth Starr Sage and married in 1947 and had two daughters, Bonnie Sage Bailey and Connie Brady. They then moved to Florida in 1961. They became members of Sunset Presbyterian for over 40 years. They had four grand daughters; Danielle LaRocca, Shannon McGaha, Melanie Cesario and Elizabeth Tackett.
Betty worked and retired after 30 years at New River Middle School. Not too many days went by where she wasn’t recognized as the lunch lady from New River. After her retirement she still couldn’t keep still and found pleasure with selling ice cream from a giant ice cream cone at craft fairs, rodeos and Renaissance festivals. She was a people person and loved being out and about.
She loved to travel, went to Alaska, Hawaii and took several cruises.
When the great grandchildren arrived she enjoyed spending time with them. She had 6 total; Zachary, 14; Holden, 14; Tori, 12; Braidlyn, 12; Joseph, 10; and Frankie, 2.
She loved volunteering with church and worked the thrift store and passing out food for the less fortunate. She was a real go getter, took pleasure in helping others. She was devoted to the end to her family and friends. She has left her mark and memories and will be missed every day! What brings us peace for those left behind is she’s with her love and Lord and we will see her again.
