Robert “Bob” Dayton Humple was born on October 24, 1954 in Perth Amboy, NJ.
He graduated from Florida Institute of Technology in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Studies. He had a variety of jobs including, providing Scuba Diving instruction in Florida and the Bahamas. He worked for Broward County for 35 yrs. as an Environmental Chemist, Geographic Information System Manager and retired as the Assistant Director of the Emergency Management Division. He participated in many relief efforts both in Florida and out of State, specifically following Hurricane Katrina in the Mississippi Area and Hurricane Irene at the New York State Emergency Operations Center.
Bob was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord, relying on Him not only in times of trouble but also in times of joy. He was a very loving and caring Husband and Father, providing for his family in many ways. He showed his compassion for animals through the care of his pets. He loved the outdoors since he thought it was one of God’s most beautiful creations. His interests were hiking, boating, swimming, fishing, kayaking, sledding and four wheeling. Among other things he enjoyed playing in the praise band, running sound, and cooking.
He is survived by: his loving wife of 21 yrs., Elizabeth Humple; daughters, Jennifer Grommes (Ryan) and Laura Coaxum (Ryan); step-daughters, Heather Soto (Rei) and Jenni Latham (Bill); grandchildren, Travis and Victoria; and his brother, David Humple. He is pre deceased by his parents, George and Nancy Humple and his brother, George Humple.
The Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 16 at 3:00 PM at:
