Eileen McCormick Nolan, who called Florida home for 36 years, died March 30 in Simpsonville, SC.
The only daughter of Edward F. and Margaret McCormick was born July 16, 1943 in Queens, NY. A graduate of Cabrini College in Radnor, Pennsylvania, Eileen taught elementary education, first in New York and later in Florida. She is well-remembered at St. Bernadette Catholic School and at Flamingo Elementary, both in Davie.
Eileen was a devoted wife to Martin J. Nolan, whom she survived in 2004. She also survived her beloved brother, Edward F. McCormick, Jr. Eileen is survived by her son, Hugh; by her daughter, Mary, and son-in-law, Michael DeSantis; and by Melissa and Anthony DeSantis, by whom she is remembered as “Grandma M&M.” In as real a sense, she is survived by many loving and beloved friends, colleagues, and students.
Mass will be celebrated at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 12 at 9:30 a.m. Urn interment will follow at Lauderdale Memorial Park Cemetery.
