Michael Anthony Bracco was compassion and love. If you collected for a charity, Michael was there for you. For pot lucks, Michael would deliver a Bracco dish – using insulated carrying bags and catering tins to be sure you got a hot meal. And if you were his dogs, you followed him around the house. If you ever heard a song that was beautiful or a voice that was smooth and full, you knew Michael. Michael played sax and keyboard. He sang, professionally, having had two world tours with the Village People. He also had the number one song in Peru with another band. He lived in England making music for a few years too. He wasn’t one to tout his past or his talents. But for such a humble man, he was dynamic – and he was competitive. He loudly defended his position. He was passionate about doing the right thing. But he accepted people for who they were and how they were. He didn’t require people to change. He just loved them for themselves. Spending time with Michael meant laughing a lot. He was smart and really ‘got’ people. He often made his own rules and we let him. So whether you loved Michael as a brother or friend, you are in good company with Simon and Robbie, Simon Jr., Gabi, Robert, Lisa, Danielle, Barbara and Jeanine, David and Lynn, and Evelyn and Sue. Thank you for all you did to make his life joyous. Michael did not want a funeral or memorial service. He wanted to be cremated and his ashes spread in the water. He loved the water. He also loved his babies – as anyone who knows him knows. So, on behalf of his love for Sugaree, Sweetie, Roca, Poopah, Miabella and Fausto, please consider in lieu of flowers making a donation in his name to the Humane Society of Broward County https://humanebroward.com/donate/.
