Martha "Martie" Garofalo

Martha “Martie” Garofalo, of Plantation, FL, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 28, 2016. She was a devoted Christian wife, mother and grandmother who greatly blessed the lives of all who knew her. Originally from Mound Valley, Kansas, she married her husband, Phillip Garofalo, and moved to Florida in 1960. They were active members of Calvary Presbyterian Church for 25 years before joining Rio Vista Community Church in 1991. Martie worked in Ft. Lauderdale as a bookkeeper for the Law Firm of Rogers, Morris and Ziegler for 44 years. Martie was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Phillip Garofalo, in 2015. She will be forever remembered by her children: Teresa Dobbins (Tim), Todd Garofalo (Mary), Susie Morris (Joe); grandchildren, Nick Garofalo, Sarah Foster (Lee), Christy Garofalo, Victoria Franklin, Joey Franklin, Michael Garofalo; brother, James Batten (Winona) and sister, Glendine Lipford (Dan); brother-in-law, Robert Garofalo (Ann). She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews as well as many life long friends to cherish her memory. She will always be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her selfless ways, and her incredible heart. Her legacy of quiet strength and undeniable faith will remain with us forever.
