Frankie Woodcock Tuning, of Plantation, Florida passed away On the late afternoon of October 15, 2016 while surrounded by her family due to the end stages of Alzheimer’s disease. She was a loved mother and grandmother. Frankie was 83 years old. Frankie was born in Miami, Florida, on February 27, 1933, the second daughter to parents Frank and Emlyn Woodcock. Frankie graduated from Miami Jackson High School in 1951. Prior to moving to Plantation, Florida, Frankie was a long time resident of Miami Springs, Florida, where she was a member of the Miami Springs Baptist Church. Frankie owned the first beauty salon at the Miami Springs Villas, and a salon at the Atrium Office Park in Doral, Florida. Frankie spent her later years traveling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren, before the onset of dementia. Frankie is survived by her daughter Valarie Marchetti and son Jim Tuning, four grand-children, Stacy Karst, Michael Marchetti, Kaley Miller, and Taylor Liles, and four great-grand-children, Austin and Ashlynn, Hunter and Haley. The family would like to thank Mersada Murray (Miss Dreamy), Frankie’s wonderful caretaker, exceptional helper and a valued friend, who took care of her at home, during the first 3 years of her illness. Due to the ongoing progression of this disease Frankie has been residing at Royal Palm Senior Residence, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A thank you to the owners and staff at Royal Palm Senior Residence who treated Frankie as a family member and took excellent care of her. In addition, a thank you to the Vitas staff who cared their mother during her final days. The family will gather at T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
