Lee Charles Wilson, longtime resident of Plantation, died Oct 30, 2016. He was 82. Lee had a passion for his family, New York City, and stamp/coin collecting. As a salesman and later a customer service representative, he always had a funny story to share with friends and clients. He recently celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary with his beloved wife, Marian Siegel Wilson. Lee was born in Brooklyn, NY, during the Great Depression, living a simple childhood in which his few possessions fit into a single drawer. He found pleasure in exploring New York City, walking seemingly every street in Brooklyn, and taking care of his dog Rusty. Lee attended Brooklyn College and later served as a yeoman in the U.S. Navy. He married the former Marian Siegel in June 1956 and lived with her and their two young sons in Rockaway Beach before moving to South Florida in the mid 1960s. Lee became one of Florida’s leading salesmen of microfiche systems, winning state and national awards for his work. Despite long hours, he always found time to help with homework or tell a memorable bedtime story. Lee also fostered his children’s interest in hobbies like magic, hiking, golf, and baseball card collecting. After micrographics were largely replaced by computers, Lee went into customer service at American Express, where he again excelled. Lee’s greatest joy came from being a father, and later, grandfather. The perfect evening: Dinner and a Panthers game with his family. Lee is survived by his wife; two sons, Marc Paul Wilson of Boston, Mass. and Captain Brian Wilson, U.S. Navy (Retired) of Washington, D.C.; four grandchildren, Noah and Sophie Wilson of Boston and Miranda and Jacob Wilson of Washington; and two daughters-in-law, Dr. Elaine Kiriakopoulos Wilson of Boston and Phyllis Watt Wilson of Washington.
