Thomas Joseph Eberle, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, born August 5, 1943, peacefully passed away on January 3, 2017 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Tom is survived by his wife of 50 plus years, Gloria (Girard); son, Thomas J. Eberle Jr. and his wife Melissa; and daughter, Sandra (Eberle) Shultis and her husband Charles. Tom also has three wonderful grandchildren, Joey and Carrie Eberle, and Jake Shultis. He is also survived by his three siblings, Kathy (Eberle) Brady, Terry Eberle, and Timothy Eberle. Tom was born in Milwaukee, WI but moved to south Florida at a young age. He graduated from Christopher Columbus High School and the University of Miami. Tom worked for over 30 years for the General Services Administration and retired in 2000. Tom had a strong work ethic and always strove to do his best for his family. Tom was an active member of the St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church Men’s Club for over 25 years. After he retired, he volunteered at Memorial West Hospital for 15 years, helping people find their way during their time of need. Tom was a great competitor who loved both playing and watching sports. He especially enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports and made the effort to attend as many games as he could. Tom was a passionate fan and supporter of his children and grandchildren in all that they did. In addition to watching his children and grandchildren play, he grew up loving the Brooklyn Dodgers and remained a life-long fan. He attended spring training yearly in Vero Beach, FL. Tom also loved football and was a season ticket holder for the University of Miami. He was blessed to have friends and family around the country to visit with while attending many University of Miami games. Tom will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but is now is at peace with his savior. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital or Hollywood Respect Life Office (4600 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, FL) – two of Tom and Gloria’s favorite charities. Freinds will be received on Thursday at the T.M.Ralph Funeral Home Sawgrass/Weston 371 NW 136 Avenue on Thursday from 6-8 PM. Funeral Mass will be Friday 10:30 AM at St. Marks Catholic Church.
