He is also survived by ten grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Married to Marna on March 20, 1955, they created a beautiful love story lasting more than 61 years. Allen was a loving husband and father, but more importantly, a devoted provider to his family. Allen served as an active member of the Army for 27 years, and 13 years as an inactive member, retiring in 1994, with 40 years of total service. From 1965 – 1980, he worked as an insurance agent / adjuster with The Hartford Insurance Group, and then Willis Insurance Agency. He took great pride in coaching his sons’ in P.A.L. football, and was also a long time member of the Kiwanis Club, District 22, in Hollywood, FL, and received the Kiwanis “Distinguished Lieutenant Governor” award for 1976-1977. Those who knew him well would remember that he had a witty sense of humor that will be greatly missed, and he had a knack for being able to create laughter in any moment, but when it came to real life situations, he was our “rock”, lending advice that was priceless. A celebration of Life is being planned for Janaury 15, 2017. Please call the funeral home for further information. Arrangments by T.M.
