Christopher G. Guck, 51, passed away on January 23, 2017 in Weston, FL. He was born to George and Carol Guck in Queens, NY in 1965. In 1972, George and Carol packed the family up and moved south. A resident of South Florida for 45 years, Chris grew up in Coral Springs attending Saint Andrews Catholic School and Coral Springs High School. In addition to playing for the high school baseball team, Chris also was involved in the community baseball league for over 10 years. Chris attended Broward College, where he was a member of the college baseball team. In 1989, Chris welcomed his first child, a princess, Ashley Nicole. After marrying the love of his life, Catherine Sulawske in 1995, they moved to their current home in Weston. Shortly thereafter in 1999, they welcomed their son, Cameron Christopher. As an active member of the Weston Baseball Association, Chris not only coached his son’s baseball team for 10 years, he was also a board member for the organization for a number of years. For the majority of his professional career Chris worked in retail management for a variety of different retailers. He was also a franchise owner of a Quizno’s located in Boynton Beach, FL and later became an Operations Specialist for the company. Chris was a lifelong New York Mets and New York Jets fan. One of his cherished moments was when he and Cameron visited Citi Field to see the brick he had inscribed “nothing beats a game with my son”. One of Chris’ childhood dreams came true when he became the owner of his dream car, a cherry red Dodge Viper, which he affectionately named Sarah after a character from one of his favorite TV shows, “Chuck”. In his spare time, Chris enjoyed going to the movies, golfing and wood working. But what he enjoyed most was spending time with his family; whether it was Daddy Daughter day with Ashley at Disney or cheering her on during a Disney race, riding the roller coasters at Universal Studios or playing catch with Cameron or a weekend getaway with Catherine. Chris also had a very close relationship with his sister Karen and brother George, with whom he met for lunch at least once a week, often spending more time laughing than eating. He is survived by wife Catherine, children Ashley and Cameron, sister Karen Hymes and her husband Alan Hymes, sisters in law Brenda Leonhardt and Anita Sulawske, brother George Guck, brother in law Michael Sulawske Jr. and his wife Jennifer Sulawske, niece Kaitlynn Hymes, nephew Josh Hymes, nephew Ryan Leonhardt and his wife Kelly Leonhardt, and grandniece Penelope Leonhardt.
