Barbara L. Scott, was born in St. Charles, Michigan, on July 24, 1923, to George and Sarah Holliday. Barbara was the fifth and youngest child with two sisters, Mary and Oleta, and two brothers, Earl and Elwood. She graduated from St. Charles High School in 1940. Barbara married Steven Scott on November 12, 1949, in the St. Charles Methodist Church, and then made their home in Saginaw, MI. Became proud parents of three sons, Jon, Michael, and Roger, and one daughter, Lynne. Barbara worked at the Saginaw News in Saginaw, Michigan until 1954 when she became a stay-at-home mom. In 1966 returned to the business world and was then employed as a legal secretary by the law firm Braun, Kendrick, Schafer, and Murphy, in Saginaw, until 1971. At that time, she and Scotty moved to Plantation, Florida, and was employed by the law firm Fleming, O’Brian, and Fleming, until she retired in 1982, when she and Scotty moved to Citrus Springs, FL. They both became very active in the Community Congregational Church in Citrus Springs. Barbara was an accomplished seamstress, making much of her own wardrobe, and especially enjoyed sewing for her daughter, making her prom dress and wedding dress. Enjoyed crocheting, knitting, Swedish weaving, reupholstering, and doing crossword puzzles, and especially liked cryptograms. Loved to play golf and was very proud of her hole-in-one. She leaves two sons, Michael (Diane) Scott, and Roger Scott; one daughter, Lynne (Danny) Scott-DiPasquale; three grandchildren, Kevin (Christa) Scott, Autumn (Jimmie) Sasser, and Samantha Scott; two step-grandchildren, Bobby Dolan, and Autumn Dolan; five great grandchildren, Michael, Aiden, Alexander, Sterling, and Madelyn; sister, Oleta Krause, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven, of 64 years, in 2013; her son, Jon Scott, in 2016; one grandchild, Jessica Anne Scott; one sister, and two brothers.
