Adell Scarlett peacefully departed on March 6, 2024, while in the embrace of a tranquil sleep. Born on August 1, 1926, to the late Mary Jane Fisher and Mr. Gregg. Adell embraced life with grace and resilience from the outset.
Adell is survived by her two loving children, Donny and Mercedes and her sister Virginia. Her grand-daughters Natalie, Natalia and Raquia and her grand-sons Collin and Alexander. Her great-granddaughters Anna and Emma. Her great grandsons Nathaniel B, Nathaniel S, Brian, Kyden, Joshua, Jeremiah and Logan. Predeceased by her late son Tomlin, grand-son Michael and grand-daughter Nadia.
Initiating her professional journey as a telephone operator with the Frome Telephone Exchange, she cultivated the extraordinary ability to recall each person's phone number—a skill refined through her dedicated efforts in connecting calls and facilitating communication. In 1972, Adell ventured into a new chapter by relocating to New York, where she dedicated years of service to the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company until her well-earned retirement. Her legacy is woven not only through her professional contributions but also through the lasting impact of her compassionate and dedicated approach to fostering connections and communication.
In 1994, Adell sought a change of scenery, settling in Orlando, where she cultivated a rich tapestry of memories until 2019. It was during this pivotal year that her grandson, Michael, extended a heartfelt invitation for her to relocate to Miramar, FL. This marked a profound shift in her life, creating a beautiful chapter of companionship and strengthened familial bonds.
Her kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of delicious creations. With her exceptional baking skills, every Christmas or birthday promises the delightful arrival of her signature black cake. Adell had an innate talent for turning ordinary ingredients into extraordinary dishes, leaving a memorial mark on the taste buds and hearts of those fortunate enough to experience her culinary delights. She had a remarkable ability to entertain. She effortlessly turned gatherings to unforgettable events, with laughter and engaging stories. Friends and family alike were drawn to her, not only for the delicious cuisines she prepared but also for the genuine hospitality that made everyone feel at home.
May Adell rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the heavenly aroma of the feasts she continues to prepare in a kitchen beyond our earthly understanding.
