Ann Sessions Miller

January 1, 1931 — August 30, 2018

ANN SESSIONS MILLER January 1, 1931-August 30, 2018   Ann slipped peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Thursday, August 30, 2018. She will be sorely missed by the many people who were part of her life. Ann was born in Jacksonville, FL during the Depression and grew up when the world was enmeshed in WWII. Her two brothers served in the war and came home safely to a sister who had become a young woman with a mind of her own. She met the love of her life, Bill Miller, when they were both teenagers. They married in 1949 and remained in Jacksonville to raise their two children, Pete and Lisa. Once her children were off to college, Ann began college in 1975 while working full time. Soon she had earned both a Bachelors Degree and a Masters Degree in the field of library science. Over the next 40 years she worked for the Broward County Library System serving as the head librarian in branches located throughout the county. It was a calling which she greatly loved. Perhaps Ann is remembered best as a dedicated member of The United Methodist Church of Plantation. She and Bill began attending there in the 1970’s, and Bill was a member of the choir. After Bill passed away, Ann became increasingly involved in many groups at the Church. She worked in grief counseling, sponsored young adults through Confirmation, volunteered in the Church office, taught Sunday School classes, served on many committees involving the stewardship of the Church, and helped out in many other roles when asked to help. She was also actively involved in The Road to Emmaus ministry. Ann is survived by her daughter Lisa, son-in-law Bruce, her grandson Jared, and many nieces and nephews. She leaves behind many dear friends who enriched her life immeasurably. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her loving memory to Plantation United Methodist Church, 1001 NW 70th Ave, Plantation, FL 33317 Cremation arrangements by T.M.
