Antoinette (Ann) L. Schandelmayer, passed away peacefully in her home of 63 years in Plantation Florida on 11/06/24, at the age of 101. She was the daughter of the late Nunzio and Antonetta (Gonnelli) Bicchieri and wife of the late Clifton L. Schandelmayer, to whom she’d been married for 33 years.

Ann, also known within the family as Nene, was born on June 13th, 1923, in Waltham Massachusetts. She was raised on a 200-acre farm, being one of 14 children in a very loving Italian - American family. Ann graduated from Hudson High School in the class of 1941. While working at Raytheon she met her loving husband Clifton who was working there as well. They moved to Florida to raise a family of 2 active sons, John Clifton Schandelmayer and Charles Lee Schandelmayer.  Ann was very committed to the task of being a good mother to her boys and a dedicated grandmother to her 4 grandchildren.

She joined the Saint Gregory Catholic Church and was very active there for 50 years. She loved nature and spent her life making friends with the surrounding wildlife. She had a rabbit coming in the house to eat out of her hand. She also had a 4-foot alligator coming up out of the canal in the back yard to eat from her hand as well. She loved plants and gardening. She joined the garden club and became the president of the local circle, then the state tree chairman, a flower show judge and the list goes on. Ann was also a fantastic cook and just loved entertaining guests. No matter what she was doing, she was always ready to help anyone that needed help.

Ann was predeceased by beloved son: John Clifton Schandelmayer, and her siblings: brothers Anthony (Mary), Frank (Virginia), Joe (Dorothy) and Johnny (Margaret) Bicchieri; and sisters Anna Chisholm (Benny), Mary Gullotti (Tony), Lee Nee (Phil), Emma Labelle (Ernie), Eleanor Brennan (William), Elsie “Debbie” Beausoleil (Paul). Ann is survived by her brother Ralph Bicchieri (Carol) and sisters, Josephine Carlson (Carl), and Louise Ferla (Robert), her son Charles Lee Schandelmayer (Kerrie), grandchildren Jeremy, Clifton, Sara, and Stephen Schandelmayer.
