Arlene J. Bailey Obituary Arlene J. Bailey, 89, of Plantation, FL passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 in Hospice care. She was born on February 21, 1933, in Chicago, IL, the eldest child of the late Charles and Helene Hessler. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, Michael C. Bailey, in 2012. They met in 7th grade and married 10 years later in 1955. They moved their family down to Florida in 1967, coaxing other family and friends to follow. Arlene was a wonderful Wife, Mama, and Grandma and a devout Catholic. She is survived by loving children, Michael F. (Jean) Bailey & Erin (Lenny) Stillman-Pollard, as well as loving siblings, Lorel Hessler Abrell and Jordan (Vicki) Hessler. Cherished Grandma to adored grandchildren, Daniel Willingham, Brooke Bailey, Brianne Bailey, Brett Bailey & Niklaus Stillman. She will also be missed by caring cousins and friends Leroy & Barbara Hessler, dear family friends the Barica Family, and many other loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Arlene was active in many church and community groups, including the Columbiettes, Plantation Women’s Club, Bayberry Garden Circle, Friends of the Library (Plantation), and Plantation Historical Society. She had an avid love of reading and puzzles, which she fostered in her children and grandchildren. We would all like to express gratitude to ARTIS Senior Living of Davie, an Assisted Living Facility for Memory Care residents, for the loving care and attention to the comfort of our mother. We are also grateful to VITAS Healthcare/Hospice for their gentle and thoughtful care of her as well. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 6th, from 6-8pm at TM Ralph Funeral Home in Plantation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 7th at 11:00am at All Saints Catholic Church in Sunrise. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express sympathy are asked to consider donations in Arlene’s name to VITAS Healthcare/Hospice or to Dementia Research.
