Beverly Costar, 93, of Wilton Manors, Florida, passed away at her home on January 6, 2023, with her loving son, John, by her side. She was born on August 19, 1929, in Key West, Florida. Beverly rejoices in heaven with her husband, John “Jack” Costar, and many more relatives and friends. Beverly grew up in Key West and it was there that she met the love of her life, Jack. She was working at an employment agency and he was a custom’s agent at the US Customs and Border Protection. They were married in 1950 and soon after, three beautiful children followed. They were a proud family of “Key West Conchs.” In 1963, Jack’s new job position as the Port Everglades Director of Customs, brought them to the Fort Lauderdale area where they settled in Wilton Manors, Florida. Beverly loved children and caring for them so working at the Wilton Manors Elementary School was a perfect fit for her while her children attended school there and for many years after. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, parties, fancy balls, and became master of the game at Word Search and her favorite, Wheel of Fortune. She was known for her loving and kind nature, grace, compassion, and willingness to always help others. Beverly is survived by her son, companion and caregiver for over 40 years, John Costar of Wilton Manors, daughter, Pamela Bonar of Sebastian, Florida, son, Steven (Annette) Costar of Knoxville, Tennessee, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all of those who called her Mom Bev and Grandma Beverly. Beverly will be remembered as a beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, great grandmother, and dear friend.
