On November 4, 1969, the larger than life, fiercely loyal, sensitive, strong, intelligent, funny, and strikingly beautiful life of Brett Gottlieb began. It is with immense sadness that Brett’s family announces his passing on August 21, 2018 at the age of 48.
Brett was born in South Plainfield, NJ and attended South Plantation High School. Highly intelligent, quick witted, and with a sparkle in his eye, he was a bit of a wild child and is remembered by all who met him. Often referred to as the funniest guy you could meet, he had a way of getting away with what few others could. A combination of charm, sensitivity, and brute strength, he was one of a kind. You were truly lucky if loved by Brett. Loyalty was a code of honor to Brett and his commitment to those he loved was only matched by his ability to bring the fun.
Brett was a skilled and accomplished contractor. He made things beautiful. Brett was the kind of intelligent talent that could do anything. He was happiest though around children and animals. He had a special love for Pit bulls and Rottweiler’s. Like the large dogs he loved, Brett was a strong, formidable opponent, often intimidating others, but was actually incredibly loving, protective and just wanted to play. He was a talent behind any wheel and loved being on the water. An incredibly humble man for having led such a large life, and very generous too. Brett had a huge effect on so many lives. As we know, an absence like this is only left by greatness.
Brett was predeceased by his beloved brother, Barry Gottlieb, Jr. Left to cherish Brett’s memory and love are his mother, Letizia Gottlieb; his father, Barry Gottlieb, Sr.; his brother and greatest pride, Brody Gottlieb (and wife Nikki Gottlieb) and his nephew and greatest love, Slade Gottlieb; his cousins Christine Colamaria-Alhashemi, Joseph Colamaria, Sr., Kim Colamaria-Indart, Joseph Colamaria , Jr and Anthony Alhashemi; his best friends Lorraine Alba, Misty Holke, Chuck Joseph, Susan Holtzman Dean, Lisa Evangelista and so many others who love him.
A funeral wake will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018, from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM at T.M. Ralph Funeral Home located at 7001 NW 4th Street, Plantation Fl 33317. A celebration on life will be held on Friday, August 31st, 2018, 1 PM at T.M. Ralph Funeral Home with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
