Catherine Ann McCarthy

Catherine Ann McCarthy passed away January 18, 2022, at her home. She was born in Ann Arbor Michigan and was a loved by her family and friends. She enjoyed antique hunting, Art Fairs, a glass of wine, and loved animals, especially her dogs and cats. Cathy graduated from Ypsilanti High School in 1976 and Central Michigan University in 1981 with a degree in Political Science. She later earned her Master’s Degree in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University after she relocated to Florida in 1982. She loved her position as Athletic Director at Western High School, having served in that capacity from 1995-2016. Prior to that she began her teaching career at Hallandale High School, Chaminade, McFatter and Miramar, and retired from her teaching career at Cypress Bay High School. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday 9:30 AM at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church 1301 SW 136 Avenue Davie, Florida. A memorial service and burial will take place later in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
