Cecilia Armstrong

Cecilia Armstrong passed away on April 2, 2018 at the age of 87. She is survived by her loving daughters, Rosemarie (Rouse) Smith and Barbie Torpey, 7 grandchildren: Tiffany Bowhey, Michael Rouse, Kristen Hunt, Stefanie Hunt, Michelle Flanagan, Thomas "Cody" Armstrong, Jonathon Armstrong and 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Army MSG Ret. Elwood "Army" Armstrong, her son Richard Armstrong, her daughter Doris Williamson and her son William "Bill" Armstrong. She was a resident of Sunrise since 1964, coming from Germany. She was a former president of the German-American Club of Ft. Lauderdale, and was involved for many years with the City of Ft. Lauderdale Oktoberfest Committee, where she received multiple accolades by former Mayor Jim Naugle and others. She was a "social butterfly" and was always available to anyone who needed help. Her smile and laugh will be sorely missed. Cecilia and Elwood will be joined together and laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Arrangements provided by T.M.
