Chida Kay Cortina, 79, born in Frederick, OK passed away unexpectedly of a cerebral bleed on February 1, 2018. Chida was predeceased by her sons Tony and Scott, her mother and father, one brother and three sisters. She is survived by her husband, Angel, Jr.; granddaughters, Toni and Alli; great granddaughter, Charli; sister, Virginia, and 12 nieces and nephews. Chida attended Miami Senior High School Class of 1956 and later graduated from Northeastern A & M College in Miami, OK. Chida together with her husband, raised their two sons in Plantation, FL where she was very active in local civic and charitable endeavors. In 1986, Chida and her husband purchased a vacation and eventual retirement home in Islamorada, FL, where they spent virtually every weekend. In the late 1990s, Islamorada became their permanent residence, while they maintained a small condo in Plantation. She loved to play bingo and had a very special bond with her many close friends that she played with. Those friends eventually became an extended family. Chida was loved and adored by her husband, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her many friends. Her smile and outgoing personality brought joy to all. She will be missed dearly, most especially by her husband of 56 years. Chida will be interred at Lauderdale Memorial Park, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, at a later date, right next to her two sons, with an empty space remaining for her husband who will be joining them soon....all four together forever. Arrangements by T.M.
