Clarence Albert “Big Al” Stotler, 80, of Sunrise, FL, passed away February 22, 2021, peacefully with his family by his side. Al was born on March 22, 1940 in Camp Point, Illinois and had 22 siblings. Al is predeceased by his parents James Andrew Stotler & Carol (Diamond) Stotler, sister Patricia Frye, and brothers Ike & Victor. Al is survived by siblings Jack Stotler, Donna Couch, Carl Cain, Terry Cain, John Cain, Hazel Solis, Rosemary O’Daniel, John Henry Stotler, Lindy, Judy Blakely, Bonnie, Suzy, Jeannie Westby and many others. Al graduated from Griggsville, Illinois High School in 1959. In 1960, he married Kathryn Musgrave and is survived by her and their four children; Sherol Bose, Shelly Tacilauskas and her husband Tim, Shonette Morris and her husband Tim, & Allen Stotler and his wife Kara. In 1972, Al married Ruth Ann (Greving) and is survived by Ruth, his beloved wife of 48 years, and their two daughters, Stacy Majewski and her husband Piotr, & Patricia Swartzwelder. In addition, Al is survived by all of his loving grandchildren; Amanda Whitworth, James Bose, Garrett & Mason Dumont, Kaylea & A.J. Stotler, Kyle & Brady Swartzwelder, and great-grandchildren; Kanyon Whitworth, Mitchell Whitworth and Amaya Bose. In his free time, “Big Al” volunteered at various organizations. He was a member of the Mason Mahi Shriner Clown Unit and played Santa Claus at the Deerfield Beach Tree Lighting Ceremony for many years. Al was a talented swimming pool builder for 34 years in So. Florida. In retirement, he created handmade artwork from discarded license plates and traveled to craft fairs with his adoring wife to sell unique handbags, birdhouses and windchimes. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He loved to host many family cookouts and his annual Easter Egg Hunt. “Big Al” will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. Visitation will be held at the T.M. Ralph Funeral Home, located at 7001 NW 4th St, Plantation, FL 33317; phone (954) 587-6888 on Monday, March 1, 2021, from 1- 3 pm, with a service to follow at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations are graciously accepted in his honor at the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, which held a special place in his heart.
