Concepcion Garcia de la Vega

April 9, 1940 — January 5, 2025

Plantation

Born in Havana, Cuba.

Conchita, "Mamina, Grand-Mamina, Tiita and Tiaco" as she was affectionately called by all those who loved her was a loving and giving godmother, aunt, sister, daughter and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents Victor and Manuela Garcia and brother Cesar Garcia and twin sister Ludy Garcia Cuello.

She adored her family and, although she did not have children of her own, was a loving and loved mom and abuela to Martica, Carolina, and Nicholas, whom she dedicated herself to caring for and doting on. She always picked them up from school at St. Gregory and Archbishop and made them their favorite treats and meals. She was deeply loved and cherished for her "blunt truth", her faith, and her service to all. She was a proud aunt to Alfredo, MariaGabriela, Ludy Elena, Monica and Cesar Jose and she deeply loved her 8 great nieces and nephews - Sofia, Luciana, Alejandro, Victoria, Veronica, Mariana and Cesar.

Graduated as a teacher from Escuala Normal para Maestros de la Habana in Cuba. Emigrated to Caracas, Venezuela  where she worked as the manager of the ticketing office and corporate training for  Viasa which allowed her to travel all around the world. She enjoyed many trips and a very special trip to the Holy Land. Later she emigrated to the US where she worked in banking until retirement and was proud of being an involved US citizen voting in all elections to keep America free from the divisions and lies of communism that she saw first hand.

While she was not one to talk long on the phone, she was a woman of great wisdom and caring and truly prayed for family, friends, the country, and the world and for a turn to humility and obedience to God.

She was a gifted cook, loved to bring the family together for dinner and was a creative problem solver having lived with a very poor sense of direction she was happy to use GPS and would not leave home without it. She often said the sacred heart of Jesus and Bible are GPS for us all.
