Daniel Allien (70), of Port au Prince, Haiti, passed away on August 10, 2023 in Plantation, FL surrounded by his family. 

Daniel, was born on November 8, 1952, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He was the eldest of three sons of Armand Allien and Fernande Murat Allien. He married Marie Annuncia “Nancy” Gerdes on September 18, 1976 and had three children: Isabelle, Christina and Dan. 

Daniel was an entrepreneur at heart. He would begin working at a young age in the distribution of coffee, and went on to create multiple successful business, including his pride and joy “A&B Hardware” founded in 1977 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. 

Daniel was the quintessential people’s person. He was well known and loved by many throughout the Haitian community. His love to serve and generosity reached many. Above all, Daniel was a family man. He loved his family deeply, especially his four grandchildren. 

Daniel is survived by his wife Nancy and three children, Isabelle, Christina and Dan. Daughter in law Zayna Berrada Allien. Four grandchildren Tristan, Lilia, Kiyaan and Anya. He is also survived by his brothers Claude Allien and Philippe Allien, spouse Patricia Gourgue Allien, his nephews and nieces Michael, Gabrielle, Steve, Didier and Anaelle. He is survived by his brother in laws John, Ralph, Michel Gerdes and families. Mother in law Caridad Gerdes. 

To his cousins the Blanchet, Jerome, Gros, Pradel and Murat families.

To his “soeurs de cœur”: Michelle Bennett, Gigi Thiesfeld, Monique Gardere, Chantale Ewald, Michaelle Schutt, Veronique Blanchet, Gennie Lemke, Kathleen Apaid. To his extended family: the Gerdes, Gregory Brandt, Patrick and Beatrice Francis, the Bennett, his A&B Hardware Team, Simone Phycien and Lucie Dorcy. 

Daniel was predeceased by his parents Armand and Fernande, his father in law Raymond Gerdes. Special thoughts to his sister in law, Marilyn Bennett Allien, who left us recently.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Gregory Catholic Church in Plantation, Fl.
