David Warren Pollio

December 13, 1961 — September 19, 2023

Plantation

David Warren Pollio was born on December 13, 1961 and passed away suddenly on September 19, 2023. He was the youngest of Tony and Lil Pollio's five children, affectionately the Pollio's.

David was a happy guy, always with a big, bright smile plastered on his face. He was bigger than life. Simply put, David was like sunshine. He had the biggest heart and loved so fiercely and in return was loved and held so dearly by many.

David's family was the most important thing in the world for him, most of all his three children- Vincent, Nicole and Dominic. He was selfless in so many aspects of his life, most importantly as a father. David was the best dad and was so actively involved in his children lives, from countless bike rides to pumpkin carving to building tree houses and later, working together and airport drop offs. David loved life and lived it to the fullest. He lived a life of no regrets and was the eternal optimistic.

Born and raised in Plantation, David was truly a Florida man. A lover of the ocean, his exercise was always his ocean swims, oftentimes past the buoy to the lifeguards' dismay. David was a big kid, with the love and zest for life mostly only children can possess. David loved to build things, from buildings to wooden trains with his son, Dominic. "Buildings and babies", that's what Dave cared about most! He loved that his job was just that, building things. Throughout his life, David worked in various areas of design, development and construction, just like his dad, Papa Tony.

David graduated from the University of Miami School of Architecture in 1994 and was mentored by Bren Simon, of Corporate Design Associates, Inc. David was also an entrepreneur, founding and leading Progressive, Design and Development Inc. David loved driving around South Florida and seeing the projects he had worked on. From the smaller scales to larger projects, his fingerprint was throughout South Florida. David dreamed big and always had something on the horizon, from his underwater house to building a skyscraper.

While he was not yet able to make his skyscraper dream happen, so many of his dreams DID happen. He had a way of making everything work out. His biggest dream, though, was his family and what a beautiful family it is.

David is survived by his three children; Vincent, Nicole and Dominic, his life partner Tiffany Hatfield and former wife Patty Pollio, his four siblings; Arthur Pollio, MaryJane LaHurd (Neil), Susan Frandsen (Dana), and Michael Pollio (Savitri) and so many Pollio aunts, uncles and cousins.

His service will be held at Saint Gregory Catholic Church on Friday, October 6th at 11am with a Celebration of Life to follow. To embody the rebel and free spirit David was in life, he will be laid to rest at sea on Sunday, October 8th.

David's greatest love was his family.

In lieu of flowers, Vincent and Nicole have set up a scholarship fund for their little brother, Dominic, who is only eleven years old. If you can donate any small amount for Dominic, it would be sincerely appreciated. The link is shown below. Thank you so much for your love and prayers.
