Dean Dominic DeVito, age 62, died peacefully in the arms of his loving wife on May 27, 2019 at their home in Plantation, Florida, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Dean was born on December 7, 1956 in the suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Santa Castagno and Dominic DeVito who raised him with his loving older brothers Richard and Stephen DeVito. He graduated from St. Joseph’s College in Philadelphia, later moving to Coral Springs, Florida where he worked in the restaurant business and later as a member representative for NFIB. He created a close-knit work family along the way with his unforgettable smile and energetic personality.
Dean is survived by his wife Linda Todaro DeVito, his two children, Gayle and Dominic DeVito, his grandson, Phoenix DeVito Vaughn, his four granddaughters, Layla, Adaline, Harper and Ensley, and his three stepchildren, Brittany, Kevin and Chelsea Todaro. We can’t forget the beloved family dog, Dory DeVito.
Dean was happily married to Linda for 13 years and passed away a month short of their 14th wedding anniversary. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, stepfather and grandfather. Dean always brought fun and happiness to those around him, whether it was telling jokes, funny stories or giving humble advice. He touched many lives with his happy-go-lucky and carefree personality, and his passion for living in the moment is what everyone will cherish in his memory.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering on Sunday, June 2 from 12 to 3 p.m. at Runyons at 9810 W. Sample Rd, Coral Springs, FL 33065.
