Debra Lynn Bennett Jung, fondly known as Debbie, was a remarkable individual who touched the lives everyone who knew her with her generous spirit and loving nature. She was born on July 30, 1953, in Sumter, South Carolina, and spent her formative years in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina and Daytona Beach, Florida.
Debbie was accomplished in her career as a paralegal but made the selfless decision to retire early to care for her family full time. Her greatest joy came from being a cheerleader for her loved ones, always there to stand by and support them in every endeavor.
A devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Debbie's presence brought warmth and comfort to all who knew her. Her hobbies and interests were as vibrant as her personality - from enjoying the beach and gardening to indulging in interior design projects. Family vacations held a special place in her heart, along with volunteering at her church teaching CCD. Debbie also cherished moments spent savoring sushi and a good margarita.
Tragically, after a valiant battle against cancer that spanned nearly eight years, Debra passed away peacefully at her home in Weston, Florida on May 21, 2024. Her memory will forever be a beacon of light for those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
Debbie is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 38 years, Kevin Jung; her children Ryan Shirah (Edilane) and Lauren Jung; siblings Harry Bennett, Jr. and Joley Dominguez Lozada (Manuel); sisters-in-law Susanne Valdes (Eduardo) and Cecilia Jung; nephews and niece Sean Bennett, Brian Bennett (Erika), Gabriel McLean, Nicholas Valdes, Marissa Valdes; mother-in-law Maria Fong Jung; along with numerous cousins.
A Mass in honor of Debra Lynn Bennett Jung's life will be held on June 1st, 2024 at Saint Bonaventure Catholic Church in Davie, Florida. The service will commence at 3:00 PM to celebrate the beautiful memories she leaves behind. Let us gather together to remember a woman whose love knew no bounds and whose spirit will forever resonate in our hearts.
