Delbert R. Lytle, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2018, concluding his active life on this earth. Delbert (Deb) is survived by his wife of thirty six years, Barbara, his three children: daughter Terry Bledsoe, sons Scott and Jon (all of Orlando, Florida): grandchildren, Steven and Stephanie, great granddaughter Jaelyn Bray and great grandson Cameron Middleton. He is also survived by his step children: Roberta Reed (Georgia), Denise Taylor (Florida), JoAnn Skee (Florida) and MaryAnn Dylewski (North Carolina). Delbert was known as Pop Pop to eight step grandchildren: Scott and Rachel Reed, Gina Middleton, Christopher, Michael and Ashley Venezia and Stephanie and Bobby Dylewski. Delbert was born June 17, 1936 in Washington, PA to Eva and Delbert Sr. He had one brother, Wade, who preceded him in death. The family moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1951. He graduated from Ft. Lauderdale High School. He was married to Betsy Ross from 1955 to 1980. He married his beloved wife Barbara in 1982. Deb worked for Meekins Concrete from 1956 until 1975. He was an officer with the Oakland Park Police Department in 1975 and retired in 1996. Then he joined Broward Sheriff's Office in 1996, working at the Broward County Court House as a Court Deputy until 2006. Deb and Barbara enjoyed their retirement, traveling, doing home improvements, arts & crafts and just growing old together. He will be missed by all of his family and friends. Visitation will be at T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home, 7001 NW 4th Street, Plantation, FL 3317 on Friday March 30th, from 5:00 - 7:30 PM with a service starting at 5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
