Dominique Miller passed away on July 26th, 2024 at his home in Pembroke Pines, Florida. While he had been recently diagnosed with Amyloidosis, his passing was an unexpected tragedy. He was 50 years old. He is survived by parents Dale and Gabrielle Miller; wife, Jennifer Marlowe; daughter, Fiona Miller; brother, Alexis Miller; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Dominique was born on November 21st 1973 in Washington D.C. He grew up in Virginia, Pennsylvania and Georgia. He graduated from Saint Pius X High School in Atlanta Georgia and later studied sociology at Georgia State University.
At an early age, Dominique showed a strong aptitude for art and technology. In the 1980s, as a teenager, he drew comics and produced computer generated video with the skill of an experienced professional. He was an early adopter of new technologies, like Bulletin Board Systems, a precursor to the modern internet and social networks – a foreshadowing of his career as a software engineer. Dominique was also an athlete in these early years; he was skilled in martial arts, having achieved the rank of black belt in Taekwondo at age 15.
In the 1990s, Dominique developed a passion for high end audio and entertainment systems. Combined with his entrepreneurial spirit, this led him to starting his own home theater and home automation business in Atlanta, Georgia in the 2000s.
Dominique eventually settled in South Florida where, in 2015, he completed Wyncode (now rebranded as BrainStation), a software engineering bootcamp. In software engineering, Dominique found, not only a successful career, but craftsmanship that expressed both his creativity and passion for technology. He went on to become a highly accomplished software engineer, specializing in mobile technology. He poured himself into his work, fearlessly engineering creative solutions to complex business problems, earning him the respect of those in his field.
On June 16th, 2016, Dominique’s daughter, Fiona, was born. This was the greatest day of his life. Dominique loved his daughter more than anything in the world. Dominique was a great father, with tremendous love in his heart for his little girl. He was incredibly proud of Fiona and the beautiful person she was growing up to be.

Dominique was generous and compassionate, qualities that were born of an outlook on life rooted in gratitude. Dominique experienced tremendous hardships in his life, but he never broke. His strength of heart and mind was an inspiration.
