Donald Harry Dow

Donald Harry Dow, age 64, of Plantation, Florida, passed away on June 26, 2022. Don grew up in Willowick, Ohio, where he loved to go exploring and had many great adventures with all of his childhood buddies. He often said if there wasn’t a bit of danger involved, they weren’t interested (or more accurately, he wasn’t). He graduated in 1976 from Eastlake North High. During that time, he worked for his parents, Charles and Ruth Dow, at Beachland Cleaners. It was here he developed the strong work ethic he practiced at all of his future jobs. After high school, he got his Airframe & Power Plant license from the Columbus Technical Institute and later earned his Federal Aviation Administration Inspector’s license. The sun, surf, and a job at AmeriJet called him to Southern Florida in the early 1980s and he never left. He loved to scuba dive and snorkel in the Keys, as well as simply fly a kite along the beach. He loved listening to music and was a dedicated audiophile. In the mid 1990s, he changed careers and spent nearly 20 years at Bell South/AT&T. His travels took him to Thailand, where he met his beautiful wife Yupha in 2009. They had hoped to spend their retirement years together there. Donald is survived by his wife Yupha, stepdaughter Linen and stepson Nawin of Bangkok, Thailand, sister Kathryn of Westlake, Ohio, brother James (Katherine) of Fort Collins, Colorado, and many cousins and friends. Don is preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Charles Dow. Until we meet again, we will dearly miss his fearlessness, humor, and fun. A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer in the Cleveland area.
