Donald Arthur Fritz

Donald Arthur Fritz passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 21, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Don was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa.

Don was born to Raymond and Wilma Carney Fritz on May 30, 1938 in Bellevue, Ohio. Don was predeceased by his older brother, Lawrence Raymond.

He is survived by Barbara Shirey, the love of his life and wife of 62 wonderful years; sons Robert (Sharon) and Donald (Joanne); and daughter Christina. Don was grandpa to Brandon (Nicole), Gregory (Haley), Christopher (Ashley), Alexander, and Travis; and great grandpa to Karlee, Caden, Austin, Avery, James and McKenzie.

Don graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School in 1957 and continued his studies at the Apprentice Plumbing School.  He loved to share his knowledge of the trade and provided instruction for many years in several apprentice plumbing programs. Don also proudly served in the Navy Seabees, a construction division of the United States Navy. 

As an accomplished master plumber, Don went on to found Mister Plumber, Inc. in 1977, a family owned and operated business of 46 years, with three generations of plumbers.

Don loved to fish and enjoyed watching all kinds of sports. He also loved to cook and feed all, including his fellow members of the Gator Bass Fishing Club. He treasured these monthly fishing tournaments with his sons and friends. 

Don was called the Energizer Bunny because of his endless energy and willingness to offer a helping hand to anyone.  He always had a word of encouragement and a joke to share. 

Don was a man of honor, kindness and generosity, with a heart of gold.  Cherished and loved by his family, friends and community, he will be truly missed by all.
